Inverters warranty terms

Every inverter brand in the catalogue, compared on the terms that decide a claim: parts, labour, and what has to stay true.

Checked 16 August 2026

Inverter warranties in this catalogue run from 10 to 12 years on parts. Almost none of them have a registration deadline, and almost none pay for labour. What several of them do have is a condition: GoodWe holds its 10 year term only while the inverter is connected to the SEMS portal, otherwise it is five, and nothing tells you when the connection drops.

Every brand, side by side

Parts terms run from 10 years to 12. Labour is where they separate: most pay nothing, and the exceptions are worth knowing before you quote a service call.

The ones with something to confirm

These brands hang the full term on something staying true. No clock, no notification, and the consequence only shows up at the claim.

SolarEdge

Inverter

1 condition to confirm

SolarEdge's standard 12 year inverter term needs no registration and starts at the earlier of installation or four months from shipment. The only clock is the paid extension: if the customer wants 20 or 25 years, it has to be bought within 24 months of shipment.

Enphase

Inverter · Battery

1 condition to confirm

Enphase IQ8 microinverters carry 25 years, applied from Enlighten activation, so the thing to confirm is that activation happened. In the United States Enphase also pays labour: $200 per truck roll plus $25 per replaced microinverter, and a paid Labor Protection Program extension stretches labour cover to five or ten years from activation..

SMA

Inverter

1 condition to confirm

SMA's US residential inverters carry a 10 year factory warranty. Registering in SMA's Online Service Center is how the warranty record attaches to the unit, and it is the door to paid extensions later, which can be bought any time during the factory term up to 20 years total.

EG4

Inverter · Battery

1 year to register

EG4's current inverters and batteries carry 10 year terms. EG4 asks for registration within the first year of purchase, with proof of purchase from an authorised distributor accepted as the fallback.

GoodWe

Inverter

2 conditions to confirmPays labour

GoodWe has no registration deadline, but its 10 year term is conditional. The inverter has to be connected to the SEMS portal and uploading generation data, and a hybrid running a Lynx battery needs both serials registered.

Sol-Ark

Inverter

1 condition to confirm

Sol-Ark's 10 year limited warranty runs from initial purchase or receipt by the end user, whichever is later, so the purchase paperwork belongs with the job. Registration guidelines exist, and owner installs carry extra hold harmless conditions, which makes recording who installed the unit part of the warranty record..

Claim Timer already holds these terms

One record per piece of equipment, with the serial, the nameplate photo and each brand's conditions on it. Put your next install in and the claim is built before the part fails.
