Warranty comparison
GoodWe vs Sungrow
The same four questions asked of both: how long on parts, how long on labour, what has to be registered, and what has to stay true.

On warranty terms
Sungrow
Asks less of you across labour, conditions and term length.
On warranty terms alone, Sungrow asks less of you. Sungrow attaches nothing to its full term. GoodWe attaches 2, and an unmet condition shortens the term without telling anyone.

What separates them
- Sungrow attaches nothing to its full term. GoodWe attaches 2, and an unmet condition shortens the term without telling anyone.
- Both carry 10 years on parts, so the parts term is not the thing that separates them.
GoodWe
Checked 28 July 2026
GoodWe has no registration deadline, but its 10 year term is conditional. The inverter has to be connected to the SEMS portal and uploading generation data, and a hybrid running a Lynx battery needs both serials registered. Miss either and the term is five years instead of ten, and nobody tells you.

Sungrow
Checked 28 July 2026
Sungrow has no registration deadline and no registration requirement. The 10 year term runs from the installation date whether anyone registers or not. EV chargers are the one exception: the installer registers those within a month. Keep proof of the install date, because the whole term hangs off it.
Nothing has to stay true
Sungrow attaches no conditions to the full term in the document we read. Keep the serial, the invoice and the install date with the job and the claim file is complete.
