SMA's US residential inverters carry a 10 year factory warranty. Registering in SMA's Online Service Center is how the warranty record attaches to the unit, and it is the door to paid extensions later, which can be bought any time during the factory term up to 20 years total. No dated deadline was found.

What has to stay true
These are not deadlines. They are things that have to be true for the full term to hold, mostly with no clock attached, and nothing tells you when one stops being true.
Register the inverter in SMA's Online Service Center: it activates the factory warranty record and is the door to paid extensions later
Terms by product line
Parts and labour are separate covers and they are rarely the same length. The models column is what the nameplate will say.
| Product line | Parts | Labour | Models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunny Boy | 10 years | None | SB5.0-1SP-US-41, SB7.7-1SP-US-41 |
What it pays for labour
The part is covered. The truck roll usually is not, and that is the number that decides whether a claim is worth filing.
The Sunny Boy line carries no labour cover.
Register: how it works
Who performs the registration changes what you have to chase, but the window runs regardless of who was meant to act.
