REC's standard product warranty needs nothing. ProTrust, the cover on the sales brochure, applies only when an REC Certified Solar Professional installed the system and registered the installation in ProPortal or the SunSnap app. No deadline is published, so do it at commissioning while the details are in hand.
Register: step by step
Capture the nameplate before anyone leaves site
Photograph the nameplate and record the serial and model. REC Solar asks for serial number, model, installation date, customer name, installation address, installer name, and every one of those is easier on the roof than from the office.
Open the REC Solar portal
Registration happens at https://www.recgroup.com/warranty-registration. You register this one.
Meet the conditions, then confirm them
REC Solar attaches conditions to the full term: Installed by an REC Certified Solar Professional; Installation registered by the installer in REC ProPortal or the SunSnap app: ProTrust cover only exists if this happened. Confirm each one rather than assuming it happened.
Record the confirmation
Save the confirmation number and the date against the job. There is no deadline to prove, but there is a start date to prove, and that is what a claim will ask for.
