Sol-Ark's 10 year limited warranty runs from initial purchase or receipt by the end user, whichever is later, so the purchase paperwork belongs with the job. Registration guidelines exist, and owner installs carry extra hold harmless conditions, which makes recording who installed the unit part of the warranty record.

Capture the nameplate before anyone leaves site
Photograph the nameplate and record the serial and model. Sol-Ark asks for serial number, model, installation date, customer name, installation address, installer name, and every one of those is easier on the roof than from the office.

Meet the conditions, then confirm them
Sol-Ark attaches a condition to the full term: Confirm the warranty registration was completed with Sol-Ark and note who installed it: coverage terms differ for professional versus owner installs. Confirm each one rather than assuming it happened.
Record the confirmation
Save the confirmation number and the date against the job. There is no deadline to prove, but there is a start date to prove, and that is what a claim will ask for.
